Ohtani Owns the Board at Goldin Elite #8

The Top 10 hammers from last night's auction

Goldin’s Monthly Sports Elite #8 wrapped overnight after extended bidding kicked off Saturday at 10pm ET. It was a logoman-heavy, multi-sport slugfest — baseball, basketball, football, and soccer all clearing six and seven figures. Finals below are hammer plus Goldin’s 22% buyer’s premium.

Here’s the Top 10 by final price.

  1. Shohei Ohtani — 2026 Topps Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Autograph Relics 1/1 $2,848,700 (hammer $2,335,000)

The headliner. Unused redemption. First major public hammer of the 2026 auto Gold Logoman 1/1, and it came in just under last year’s Chrome Gold MLB Logoman Auto 1/1 at Fanatics Collect ($3,000,000 in Dec 2025) — a soft −5.0% year-over-year on the solo. Against the Dual Ohtani/Judge Gold Logoman Auto 1/1 that did $2.16M at Fanatics in March 2026, this solo still clears by +31.9%.

Market takeaway: the 2026 chrome logoman ceiling is still sitting just under $3M, not collapsing — just digesting a second consecutive mega sale.

  1. Stephen Curry — 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Alter Egos SuperFractor #AE-3 1/1 PSA 8 $652,022

Goldin called it the all-time highest public Alter Egos sale, and the comps back that up hard. The nearest public Alter Ego SuperFractor reference — Ohtani’s 2025 Chrome Update piece at Fanatics in January 2026 — was $105,000. That’s a +521% leap into a new price band for the insert.

PSA 8 on a 1/1 SuperFractor still doing mid-six-figures is a statement about how thin and chase-y this set has become.

  1. NY Knicks Starting Five — Topps Now 2026 NBA Champions Quintuple Auto FoilFractor 1/1 $317,200

Brunson, Hart, Anunoby, Bridges, and Towns on one unused redemption FoilFractor. Unique title-set 1/1, first public sale, so no direct comps — but $317K for a five-player championship Topps Now auto is a new data point for how the market prices dynasty-moment group cards when the Knicks finally have the banner.

  1. Shohei Ohtani / Aaron Judge — 2025 Topps Gold MLB Logoman Dual /4 (redemption) $298,900

The Dual /4 kept climbing. Prior Dual /4 at Goldin in August 2026 cleared about $221K — this one is roughly +35% on the hammer side. Pair with the $2.85M solo 1/1 above and you get a clean Ohtani logoman ladder for the night: 1/1 auto near $2.85M, Dual /4 near $300K.

  1. Kobe Bryant — 2014-15 Panini Flawless Great Dual Memorabilia Autograph #19/25 PSA 10 / PSA-DNA 10 $295,240

High-end Flawless Kobe with dual grades locked at 10. Comps are thin at this exact serial and grade, but the result sits in the same neighborhood as several other mid-to-high six-figure Kobe pieces that closed the same night (see #7).

  1. Tom Brady — 2000 Bowman Chrome Refractor #236 Rookie SGC 10 (Pop 3) $292,800

Classic chrome refractor RC, Pop 3 in SGC 10. Same grade last sold at Goldin on March 29, 2023 for about $222K with BP — that’s +31.9% over three-plus years. Quietly one of the cleanest “blue-chip vintage modern” prints of the night.

  1. Kobe Bryant — 2004-05 Upper Deck Exquisite Limited Logos #05/50 BGS 9.5 / 10 $292,800

Tied Brady on the dollar. Same issue at Goldin in July 2026 did about $232K — roughly +26%. Exquisite Limited Logos remains one of the most liquid high-end Kobe formats, and this serial kept that trend intact.

  1. Kylian Mbappé — 2026 Panini Prizm FIFA World Cup 26 National Landmarks Black Prizm 1/1 PSA 9 $292,800

Three-way tie at $292,800. First public for this National Landmarks Black 1/1, so no comps — but a near-$300K soccer 1/1 in a World Cup Prizm product is a loud early read on WC26 chase depth.

  1. Shohei Ohtani — 2026 Topps Tribute Prime Patch Autograph Logo 1/1 $280,600

Third Ohtani piece in the Top 10. Unused logo-patch auto 1/1 from Tribute. Comps unavailable on this exact configuration; it lands as the night’s #3 Ohtani by dollars after the Chrome Gold Logoman and the Dual /4.

  1. Michael Jordan — 1984-85 Star #101 Rookie PSA 7.5 $244,028

Same grade at Goldin on August 9, 2025 cleared about $106K with BP — a +130% jump in just over a year. Mid-grade Star #101s have been climbing hard, and this result keeps that tape hot.

(Honorable mention, one tick behind: Tom Brady 2015 National Treasures Tremendous Treasures NFL Shield 1/1 at $244,000.)

Quick hits just outside the Top 10

  • Stephon Castle 2025-26 Topps Chrome Gold NBA Logoman Auto Relics 1/1 — $219,600 (Goldin’s all-time highest public Castle; +481% vs his prior public high around $31K)

  • LeBron James 3/27/04 first 40-point game-used signed Zoom Gen 1s — $211,060

  • Ohtani 2018 Dynasty Autograph Patches #05/10 BGS 9.5 — $207,400

  • Kobe April 13, 2016 final-game signed full ticket (60 points) PSA 10 / PSA-DNA 10 Pop 1 — $104,920 (+406% vs a lower-grade example in April 2026)

The night in one line

Ohtani owned the dollar board, Curry blew up a niche insert into six-figure territory, and Kobe/Brady blue chips kept proving they’re still liquid at ~$250–295K. Watchlist into next week: Pete Crow-Armstrong’s 2024 Topps Chrome Update RDPA 1/1 is sitting at a $450,000 live bid on Goldin with a Wednesday, Oct 1 close — that one’s a post-close package if it sticks.
