Everything We Know About Absolute Justice So Far

Five issues, six heroes and no tie-ins. Here's what DC revealed at NYCC and what collectors should watch before April.

The Absolute heroes finally share a book next April. Here's what DC announced at NYCC, what's still guesswork, and what collectors should watch.

Absolute Justice #1 cover by Juan Ferreyra.

Since Absolute Batman #1, every Absolute hero has been fighting alone in a world rigged against them. On Friday at New York Comic Con, DC gave us a name, a creative team and a month.

Five issues, starting April 2027

DC closed out its packed Absolute Universe panel by announcing Absolute Justice, a five-issue event miniseries written by Jason Aaron (Absolute Superman) and drawn by Juan Ferreyra. Issue #1 is set for April 2027. Scott Snyder posted it live from the room: "This April, pick up ABSOLUTE JUSTICE!"

That's as specific as it gets for now. There's no exact on-sale date, price or page count yet, and the book hasn't been solicited.

Who's on the team

The lineup DC showed:

  • Absolute Superman

  • Absolute Batman

  • Absolute Wonder Woman

  • Absolute Martian Manhunter

  • Absolute Flash (Wally West)

  • Absolute Green Lantern (Jo Mullein)

Ferreyra's cover puts all six in one shot. Absolute Catwoman, Green Arrow and the newer books aren't on it, and DC hasn't said whether any of them will appear.

Martian Manhunter brings them together

This is the best part. Deniz Camp's strange, wonderful Absolute Martian Manhunter has wrapped up, but the character isn't going anywhere. DC says he's the driving force that assembles the team.

Ferreyra posted the first three pages Friday night. The Peacemakers from Absolute Superman move in on John Jones, the Martian tears through them in a gooey, psychedelic spread, and then John calmly walks up to a domed building. It looks a lot like the Absolute Hall of Justice, and the figures waiting inside appear to be Jack Grimm, Hector Hammond, Brainiac, Elenore Thawne and Veronica Cale. That's basically the villains' club from last year's Absolute Evil one-shot.

Wait, isn't the Justice League evil here?

Yes, and that's the twist in the title. In this Darkseid-shaped universe, "justice" belongs to the people in charge. In Absolute Evil #1, a cabal of villains teamed up out of a Hall of Justice to stop the new heroes before they could organize. DC's trailer leans right into it: "From the darkness, a new world of heroes rose. And with them came hope. That was a mistake… Abandon all hope."

Snyder summed up the book in one line: "If everything is tipped against us, I guess we have to fight."

How it fits with the rest of the line

Good news for your pull list: there are no tie-ins, and the ongoing books won't be interrupted. Aaron writes every issue, but the other Absolute writers are reportedly contributing dialogue for the characters they handle in their own series, so the voices should feel right.

The event was originally pitched to retailers for late 2026, so April means it slipped about six months. Here's what's lined up before then:

  • Absolute Batman #25 (Oct 28): a 30-page issue as Bruce goes after Jack Grimm at his manor, with a big Joker reveal promised.

  • Absolute Batman #26 (January): Cliff Chiang guest-draws a Barbara Gordon story while Nick Dragotta takes a short break.

  • Absolute Superman #25: the Brainiac fight comes to a head, with Ferreyra among its artists, before Superman heads into space.

  • Absolute Wonder Woman #25 (Oct 28): 30 pages that introduce Absolute Cheetah, with Silver Swan coming after.

  • Absolute Green Lantern #19: Al Ewing teased a "massive psychic revelation" and mentioned Martian Manhunter in the same breath, so it's a possible lead-in worth watching.

Why it matters for collectors

  • It's the first #1 where the Absolute line comes together. Absolute Batman and Wonder Woman #1 became modern keys. This is the first issue with the whole roster on one cover, so expect heavy demand.

  • Five issues and no tie-ins makes it an easy run to finish, with no 30-chapter crossover to hunt down.

  • The cover art is already out, but DC hasn't said whether Ferreyra's piece is Cover A. Wait for the solicit before assuming.

  • Keep an eye on Absolute Evil #1. If that Hall of Justice really is where Absolute Justice opens, the one-shot becomes required reading.

  • There's no rush to pre-order. An April #1 would usually be solicited around January, so treat any listing that claims to sell it now with caution.

Variant checklist

None yet. DC hasn't solicited Absolute Justice #1, so there are no cover letters, variant artists, ratios or prices to list. We'll build the full checklist the moment the solicit drops.
