Another busy week is in the books.

From seven-figure cards and vintage wax to Disney digital pins, Candy Digital and high-end NFT activity, collectors had plenty to follow between August 12 and August 18, 2026.

1. Macklin Celebrini 1/1 Sells for $1.281 Million

One of hockey’s biggest young stars produced the biggest publicly documented collectible sale we tracked this week.

The 2024–25 Upper Deck Young Guns Outburst Gold Macklin Celebrini rookie 1/1 sold through Goldin on August 15 for $1.281 million. Goldin recorded a $1.05 million winning bid before the final price with premium reached $1.281 million.

It was the highest verified collectible sale found during our August 12–18 reporting window.

2. Eight Unopened 1952 Topps Packs Bring $1.107 Million

Vintage wax delivered one of the week's biggest results.

A cellophane-wrapped brick containing eight unopened 1952 Topps five-cent wax packs sold through Robert Edward Auctions for $1.107 million, including buyer's premium.

The group traces back to the famous Seattle find of the 1990s.

3. Pikachu Illustrator Crosses $1 Million

Pokémon was back in seven-figure territory.

A 1998 Japanese CoroCoro Comics Pikachu Illustrator, graded BGS 8.5, sold at Goldin for $1,006,500 on August 15.

That gave the week three publicly documented collectible sales above the $1 million mark.

4. Disney Pinnacle Turns Its Latest Drop Into an Event

Disney Pinnacle was one of the most talked-about digital collectible platforms of the week following its latest premium pack experience.

The format leaned heavily into the trading-card style reveal experience, with multiple rarity levels and extremely limited chases giving collectors opportunities to land premium pulls.

The release also continued Disney Pinnacle's growing connection with the wider Disney ecosystem. Disney+ currently promotes monthly Disney Pinnacle rewards from Dapper Labs as part of its Disney+ Perks program.

For digital collectors, Pinnacle remains one of the platforms worth keeping an eye on as Dapper continues experimenting with pack mechanics, rarity tiers and licensed Disney collectibles.

5. Candy Digital's MLB Gold Series Next Gen Sells Out

Candy Digital's latest MLB Gold Series — Next Gen release sold all 36 packs in 22 minutes, generating approximately $29,000 in primary sales.

The release featured Elly De La Cruz, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Junior Caminero, Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Chourio and James Wood. Each player received 25 Rare editions, 10 Epic editions and one Legendary 1/1.

Candy also reported an Elly De La Cruz /5 secondary sale approaching $1,700 shortly after the auction.

6. Kobe Bryant Dominates Goldin's High-End Results

It wasn't just one major Kobe sale this week—it was four.

Kobe Bryant cards occupied four positions in the overall physical Top 10, producing approximately $1.595 million in combined sales.

The group included a 1/1 Flawless patch autograph at $489,830, an Upper Deck Game Jersey Autograph #8/8 at $368,441, a Metal Universe PMG #16/50 at $368,440 and a Flawless Emerald #4/5 at $367,830.

7. Heritage Puts Disney History on the Auction Block

Disney collectors also had a major physical auction to watch.

Heritage Auctions held its Disney Experiences — Rare and Remarkable Finds Signature Auction on August 16 in Anaheim, part of a particularly busy week for the auction house across comics, TCGs, coins and entertainment collectibles.

The timing was fitting for a week in which Disney collecting was active on both the physical and digital sides of the hobby.

8. Heritage Runs a Packed Week for Comics and TCG Collectors

Heritage's calendar was loaded beyond Disney.

The auction house hosted a Trading Card Games Select Auction on August 12, a Golden Age Century Comics Showcase on August 13, and a Non-Sports Trading Cards auction closing August 16.

It was another reminder of just how broad today's collectible auction market has become—from Golden Age comics to Pokémon and entertainment cards.

9. Candy's Rebuilt Marketplace Continues Its Push Forward

Candy Digital's MLB activity comes as the company continues rebuilding its collecting ecosystem following its migration toward a Solana-powered platform.

Candy's current site describes the experience as wallet-native and Solana-powered, while its relaunch strategy has included the restoration of secondary-market buying and selling.

The Next Gen sellout gives collectors another data point to watch as the platform continues its 2026 comeback.

10. Two Auctions Account for the Entire Physical Top 10

One interesting piece of context from this week's sales data: every one of the Top 10 physical sales occurred across just two auction-closing dates.

Seven came from Goldin's August 15 auction and three from Robert Edward Auctions on August 16.

That made this an unusually concentrated weekend at the high end of the physical collectible market.
